I was referred to him due to large fibroids and the exploration of surgery to have them removed, as they were causing significant bleeding and prolonged, pronounced anemia. After a review of my situation and as part of preparation for my surgery he prescribed me MyFembree to help shrink the fibroids & limit my bleeding/bring my blood levels into an appropriate range for surgery. I had a little trouble getting my insurance approve the MyFembree, but he & his team worked hard to get it approved. It worked right away to help with the bleeding and I had no noticeable side effect from the medication! My body responded and I was able to have required surgery.

Even though the size of my fibroids was quite large, he was confident about being able to remove them. I felt confident in his expertise and experience immediately. Throughout the whole process I felt cared for my Dr. Gariulo and his staff in a real human way, and not that I was just another case number. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a specialist related to fertility issues!

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have only had one consult with Dr. Gargiulo for a very specific 2nd opinion regarding an adenomyosis diagnosis I received. I left this appointment absolutely blown away and honestly in tears (in a good way) because I had so much hope restored in me about my fertility and future pregnancy prognosis. Dr. Gargiulo was patient, compassionate, highly educated, and treated me with so much kindness and did not leave me feeling confused about anything we discussed. I have never trusted a physician like I trust him after one single consult. That is remarkable to me. As of right now, not planning for any surgical intervention but I know that if I do, Dr. Gargiulo is who I would go to hands down. My journey started with a visit to my regular OB for extremely heavy periods. They found a single fibroid about 3 inches. Since I did not want more children they highly recommend hysterectomy (I was 35). They listed other options, but said them in a way that they did not really recommend them. At a follow up I asked again about a myomectomy (removal of just the fibroid) and she said they could do it, but its more dangerous than a hysterectomy. This didn't seem right so I did my research...
My research led me to Dr. Gargiulo. He was listed as a fertility doctor, and while I had no plans for more children, I saw all his experience in myomectomies. When I met with Dr. Gargiulo, I felt heard and validated in getting a myomectomy.  He assured me that is absolutely safer than a hysterectomy,  and comes with less long term side effects.
I had to wait a year to have the surgery, but it went smoothly. He was also willing to coordinate with a general surgeon at Lahey to repair my umbilical hernia at the same time. I am so so happy that I followed my gut and looked for a second opinion! I definitely recommend Dr. Gargiulo.

I came to him with a 10 cm fibroid causing very heavy menstrual bleeding and anemia. I had lived with these symptoms for years without realizing how much they were affecting my quality of life.

I was also living in a new country, far from my family and my usual doctors, so finding someone I could trust was very important to me. Dr. Gargiulo was always clear and straightforward about what needed to be done, while communicating with kindness and making me feel confident throughout the treatment and surgery.

My robotic myomectomy was a success, my recovery was very smooth, and my quality of life has improved significantly. I also really appreciated that he speaks Spanish, which made communication much easier.

We weren’t 100% sure that the pain & dysfunction was related to my history of endometriosis but he felt it was worth investigating further. I’m so glad that we did.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would like to share my sincere gratitude and 10/10 experience with Dr. Antonio Gargiulo following my excision surgery for Stage 4 endometriosis and appendectomy on 5/1 at Winchester Hospital.

After struggling with infertility, debilitating menstrual pain for over 21 years, and ongoing fatigue, finding Dr. Gargiulo was truly life-changing. From my very first consultation, he made me feel heard, validated, and cared for. His professionalism, compassion, and expertise are exceptional, but what stood out most to me was the genuine care he showed throughout my entire experience.

Immediately after surgery, Dr. Gargiulo personally updated my husband and then called me himself the following day to check on my recovery. His nurse also reached out to ensure I was doing well. During the first week of recovery, I experienced significant gas pain and shortness of breath. When I contacted the office with concerns, both Dr. Gargiulo and his nurse responded quickly and compassionately.

After being evaluated at urgent care, I was advised to go to the ER to rule out a pulmonary embolism. Even during that stressful experience, Dr. Gargiulo remained actively involved in my care. He personally contacted the attending physician at SSH ER to discuss my surgical history and provide clinical updates. The ER physician expressed how rare and impressive it was for a surgeon to take that level of personal involvement. In a moment filled with anxiety and uncertainty, knowing Dr. Gargiulo was advocating for me brought an incredible sense of reassurance and comfort. Thankfully, all testing, including CT scans of my chest and abdomen, came back normal and negative for any clot.

Now at 3 weeks post-op, I am feeling significantly better. One of the most emotional moments for me was experiencing my first menstrual cycle after surgery. For the first time in over two decades, my pain was minimal. I only required one dose of extra-strength Tylenol for mild cramping — something I never thought would be possible after years of severe pain.

There are truly not enough words to express how grateful I am to Dr. Gargiulo for the care he provided me. He combines extraordinary surgical expertise with rare compassion and humanity. I only wish more physicians practiced medicine with the same level of dedication and empathy.

I have a little girl who means everything to me, and while I hope she never has to experience endometriosis, I would trust Dr. Gargiulo completely with her care if she ever needed treatment in the future.

From my first consultation, it was clear he has a deep understanding of complex endometriosis and approaches each case thoughtfully and carefully. His skill shows not just in the outcome, but in how he explains everything and sets realistic expectations.

What stood out most to me is his experience, he has clearly treated a thousands of complex patients and makes decisions with a level of confidence that’s rare in GYN surgery. There’s a reason patients are willing to wait to see him. His time is limited, his cases are complex, and his level of specialization is hard to find. His background as a director at a teaching hospital also gave me a lot of confidence that his decisions are based on what’s best for the patient.

In a system where volume often matters more than quality, he does things differently. He takes the time to do the surgery thoroughly and correctly, regardless of how long it takes.

Dr. Gargiulo is my best & most trusted Dr/surgeon/advocate, thanks to his accountability, top skills, listening, creativity & flexibility. He performed my laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy and gave personalized, evidence‑based fertility guidance.

I first sought Dr. Gargiulo’s help for an embryo transfer (ET) at BWH in early 2024, but his waitlist was over a year. Given my advanced age, I had to move forward with other providers. After two failed ETs, I returned to him at FCNE in 2025.

During consultations, we reviewed my fibroids—previously dismissed as non‑impactful (FIGO 4–6) by several providers. Dr. Gargiulo, however, clearly recommended removing them before another ET and confidently explained the laparoscopic approach. His swift diagnosis and assertiveness made my decision easy. Despite a long waitlist, he LISTENED to my concerns about time sensitivity at age 47, CREATED multiple options, personally called me to discuss, and worked out a way to accommodate my timing/surgery.

Dr. Gargiulo removed 9 fibroids, including a couple measuring 4–5 cm, plus significant adhesions. About a week later, I noticed some firmness near one incision. He immediately evaluated me remotely, then in person, and reassured me it was normal scarring. My symptoms—spotting, night sweats, heavy bleeding—resolved, suggesting potential impact of fibroids on failed ETs. His TOP SKILL and JUDGEMENT made all the difference.

Next, based on the totality of my data, Dr. Gargiulo ADVOCATED for me and recommended prioritizing another program allowing Day 3 transfer for the upcoming ET.  He also demonstrated cultural awareness by contextualizing a recent lab result related to my home country, which immediately eased my concerns.  And when he had a last-minute conflict with our appt, he even offered an alternative time during his OOTO/conference. That level of ACCOUNTABLITY and care is extraordinary.

Now I have experienced firsthand why Dr. Gargiulo is recognized as a world‑renowned fertility specialist/surgeon. I’m deeply grateful for receiving his top-notch care along my fertility journey. Highly recommend him to anyone navigating challenges with infertility/fibroids and seeking EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS and PATIENT-CENTERED CARE!
